This experience will be invaluable for these young students. Experience is the best teacher in my opinion, so creating an opportunity for students to nurture and watch these caterpillars grow and change is a no-brainer! We will be reading several books by Eric Carle, culminating with "The Very Hungry Caterpillar". We will also be studying related informational texts about bugs. While we watch the caterpillars and read various books, students will also be writing in response to text, and journaling about this experience. Students will have the opportunity to feed the caterpillars, watch them transform, and release them into our community garden in May.

About my class

This experience will be invaluable for these young students.
