My students will benefit greatly from your generous donations. Each math and science resource purchased will help students improve those skills required by the common core curriculum. Students learn in a variety of styles. These resources will help students who are visual, auditory and kinesthetic learners.
Many of the students require one-on-one and/or small group support. The Self-Teaching Math Machines and Math Brain Electronic Games will be useful during center rotations. These activities will keep small groups focused while in their centers while I am helping individual students. The Weight Hands-On Measurement Center will also be useful in rotations, but most importantly it is a great hands-on and visual learning tool for students. The Multiplication & Division playing cards and Self-Checking Fractions Match-Up game will make learning, exciting and have students looking forward to school every day. Instead of simply completing textbook and workbook assignments, students get to practice their math and science skills in a variety of ways.
The Assorted Science and STEM Nonfiction book sets are another important addition to our classroom. With out a school library it is important that I build a strong classroom library.
Our school lacks most of the basic resources needed and the students are aware. Seeing that people care about their education and are willing to support them is great motivation for each student.
