It is important for children to read nooks- 50% literature and 50-% non-fiction. My students will use the non-fiction readers to help them meet the 50% non-fiction requirement. We have a limited number of non-fiction texts in our classroom library, so these texts along with the monthly subscription to Scholastic News will help to fill that void.
Please help these first graders to learn new information about our world. These texts will give them the opportunity to explore text features, ask questions, and learn new facts about animals, holidays, science, history, and citizenship. These eager minds are longing to learn, learn, learn!
