My students are labeled as having a disability. That, combined with today's many distractions, make it increasingly difficult for many of them to complete their assignments.
The low-tech options of working at a standing desk or using a special cushion would give them a choice in their learning environment and help them concentrate while they learn. Students will be able to choose whether they work standing up or at a desk with a special seat cushion. Either option will help them work without causing an additional distraction in the classroom. Since each class period is 90 minutes long, students would also be able to rotate throughout the period and use the different work areas in the classroom.
