All of the materials we are requesting for our classroom will focus on a hands-on approach to learning. We work with young children to enhance their development of fine motor skills, cooperation with one another as well as math skills. Students can role play with new baby dolls in the classroom, as well as with the different types of play foods. Students will be encouraged to try new and healthy foods by using these items in their play daily. Students will be able to focus on math skills (the lowest academic area for our population of students) to prepare for kindergarten. Students can use counters (manipulatives) to work on patterning, counting, matching a numeral to a quantity, comparing and contrasting sets and much more!
