My kindergarten students are constantly on the go. Learning to focus in a classroom can sometimes be challenging for students if they are expected to sit still and work the way that everyone in the classroom is. My students all have unique learning styles and will benefit from a variety of seating.
Providing my students with many different options in flexible seating will empower them to take an active role in choosing how they work and learn best. The variety of flexible seating I have chosen will be used in our classroom throughout the day. The seating cushions and balance discs can be used in traditional chairs or anywhere on the floor in the classroom. The Hokki stools and plastic stack stools can be used in small group or large group settings around the classroom. The Hokki stools will allow movement for students who need to move while learning. I have also chosen to provide chair bands for students who need to keep those legs moving while working. The cotton bolster pillows and inflatable chairs will be used for students who need a cozy location around the classroom to read or work.
From traditional chairs, seat cushions and inflatable chairs that can help them stay and work in a desired space around the classroom to Hokki stools, balance discs and chair bands that provide movement opportunity while working, flexible seating will give choice to every student.
