My classroom is in a Title 1 school so we have a low socioeconomic base. Several of my kindergartners come in without previously attending Pre-K. We start with the basics and while building community build our skill base. Some of my students have not had access to technology or if they have it is limited. I strive to give them exposure to different forms of technology as well as different activities they can use to help them learn using that technology. I like to let them learn with fun. We laugh, we play and we build an environment they can feel safe in and want to be in. This is the stability some of my students don't get at home. Each student grows in multiple ways throughout the year. They are excited to learn and grow. They bloom with every new experience. It is always fun to see them help each other and watch those light bulbs turn on with more education.
