This coming school year I am making a commitment to change our classroom to a more comfortable learning environment. Classroom desks are going to be replaced with tables and we now need some options with seating including Runtz ball chairs, stools and stability discs. I'm really excited to take this step and give students the power to make some of their own decisions on how they will be most comfortable when learning.
A successful, positive, fun classroom needs to be a community. Everyone should be comfortable and be able to make some choices in how they will learn best. Giving some alternative seating will enable students to make a decision that will lead to success with behavior and academics.
Think about having to sit in the same, traditional classroom chair all day... yeah, I know, it would be "hard"... difficult.
