My students need these materials in the classroom so that they are able to regulate their bodies and focus on the learning that is going on in the classroom. These non traditional seating options, such as wobble chairs and soft seats, give students the ability to choose to go where they learn best. The students are on Individual Educations Plans and often have written in their as an accommodation to be supplied with a material that will allow them to get out some energy, this type of seating allows that. Being that almost all students are significantly below grade level they need to not only learn the standards that are being taught, but need re-teaching of previous concepts and frequent repetition to make more than a years growth.
