My first graders like to be up-close and personal for lessons! We often sit on the rug and use the easel for sample stories, math problems, to display new poems and much more. Our current easel keeps falling apart. It does not have a place to hang paper or a place to hold supplies underneath.
An easel is used in our classroom multiple times everyday and my students would really benefit from a new one. We use it to practice sentences on, our daily message and we even play number games on it. Sitting at tables is ok for some lessons but I find that when my students can gather on the rug around the easel it is much easier for them to focus.
