I am really excited for my first year teaching World Civilization and look forward to using the materials necessary to have a successful year.
My first request is for access to a variety of world history books that coincide with the curriculum being taught throughout the school year. This is an excellent way to keep learning inside the classroom and a great way to build my library for the students.
One way for students to think about world history is by having access to a variety of world maps as well as posters in order to visually see what we are learning about as well as recognize the differences in the geographical structure of the environment and why civilizations relied so much on different resources, this will help the students not only answer questions but come up with new questions about the world.
I am a teacher that wants to use creativity to the max, which will include the materials needed to print, laminate, cut, paste, color, glue and build excellent student examples that coincide with the standards in world civilization. My classroom will be able to utilize Silhouette Cameo 3 which will create great student posters, replicate artifacts as well as come up with new ideas that will represent today's history.
The supplies asked for are everyday items like staplers, hole punch, printer etc. These are basic materials needed for the classroom that I would really like to have to relieve some stress so I can focus on classroom management as well as lesson plans for students success.
Overall I want to create an excellent learning environment as well as have the students come out of 2018 feeling a love for history and a broader knowledge of the world that will set them up for success in college.
