Each student will receive a copy of The Polar Express. Reading aloud to young children is the best way to expand their vocabulary and engage them in reading. It will also teach the students the different parts of the book, the title, where we start to read and how we read left to right. The students will also expand their vocabulary as the story is read to them.
The students will have the opportunity to share traditions they do with their families and read a classic book about friendships and believing. My project will also create family bonding. My students may not be able to read just yet but it creates the bond between families when they read to their child.
