By creating flexible seating in my classroom, students will be able to choose which flexible seating option works best for their particular learning needs. Research has shown flexible seating increases student motivation, collaboration, and focus. Flexible seating allows all students to be comfortable where they choose to sit. The more comfortable students are, the more focused they will be. Flexible seating encourages students to be self-aware of how they learn best and where they need to sit to achieve this. Flexible seating is 'flexible' and encourages students to move around to different areas of the classroom and collaborate with others.
