Imaginative play is critical for Pre-K students, especially students who speak various languages. Engaging in dramatic play teaches the students social skills, cultural diversity, healthy choices and problem solving skills. With such a rigorous curriculum, this play based center will be beneficial for students! Students of a second language often feel most comfortable first in social settings then followed by academic settings. This dramatic play area will encourage their academic language through a more place based approach. Students who already speak English will also benefit by acquiring crucial life skills. Dramatic play benefits all students in my classroom. Thank you!
