For the 2017-2018 school year, my class will have a 90-minute reading block followed by a guided reading time block daily. If my class were gifted iPads, we would be able to create a new reading station that could utilize the dozens of children's reading apps. This would give me the opportunity to focus on my guided reading group's. RAZ-kids along with Myon will be one of many apps that will be used to keep the students focused and excited about reading. By offering a plethora of reading materials, my students will have options in choosing items they can relate to or interest them. Many of the materials I currently have are dated or are in fair condition. New materials would reenergize my class and make reading time more beneficial and enjoyable for all reading levels. My requested book list would allow me to create reading bins on each desk cluster. I would also be able to expand my reading library which can benefit students years to come. Aside from reading advancements, the classroom iPads would also serve as technology to implement a classroom reward system as well as a classroom management plan. Finally, portability of a iPad allows real-time feedback to parents/guardians from Class Dojo.
