Let's think back to your school days one more time. Do you remember sitting in those hard chairs, where instead of being engaged you were focusing on trying to stay awake and get comfortable? We've all been there! So, let's fix it!
In my classroom, I want to get rid of those pesky chairs and replace them with various options for students. A variety of wobble seats, wobble cushions, and cushioned chairs will help meet the learning needs of my students. These choices will allow students to choose a work place where they can do their best learning with fewer distractions.
For those kiddos that may be fidgety I also want to provide the option of exercise balls and fidget bands for chairs. These alternatives will allow students to bounce or fidget during the day without causing distractions and maximizing student learning all around.
It's amazing what the power of choice can do for student confidence and learning. By changing our classroom environments so students are able to make choices, we are empowering them to have a say in their learning.
