My students need headphones/microphones to use in the computer lab for individualized instruction and projects.
My students are always excited to come to the computer lab. They bound through the doors anxious to see what new project we will be completing that day. My kiddos range in age from five years old to fourteen years old and are diverse in race, culture, and socio-economic status.
The school district I teach is incredibly diverse.
Some of my students are fortunate enough to have technology at home while other students must rely on completing all of their assignments at school, which is why Donors Choose ia so important.
It is my dream to have an up-to-date computer classroom to allow students to use our technology effectively. A major component of this classroom would include interactive audio learning activities.
Often times when we integrate technology into the core curriculum, students in my school are unable to capitalize on the resources we use because they cannot afford accessories. When we use the computer lab, students are often tasked with completing virtual lessons and activities. Many programs require students to listen to the directions as well as the sounds of the program is necessary to students. Without headphones to listen with and microphones to record, they're unable to fully participate in the activity.
This is why having microphone equipped headsets available for student use is so important.
Students can work at their own pace, at their own level, without the distracting noise of other students. I want my students to be able to take their projects and presentations to the next level and allow those without access to these resources at home to feel confident in the assignments they are completing.
