My middle school STEAM art students need spiral sketchbooks for interactive, multi-media journal/sketchbooks, but many cannot afford to purchase them. Throughout the 9 week course students will use the sketchbooks in and out of class daily, with sketches, responses and experiments in the art journal/sketchbooks.
The art journal/sketchbooks are used as a permanent record of their art interests and studies, as well as for free choice exploration and expansion of the same, student chosen subject matter which will be reimagined and expanded each week.
Students will learn art journaling techniques, including ideas from the Steal Like an Artist Journal, create and add student's own handmade papers, and collect ideas and inspiration for STEAM projects, using varied materials and techniques to make the entire journal their own unique piece of art.
