Do you remember getting excited when math tools and manipulatives were displayed for the upcoming lesson? Can you remember the shiny protractors, the odd angles of pattern blocks, and the endless building possibilities that came with linking cubes? A critical component of today's math instruction that not only drives instruction but sparks curiosity among students is having access to manipulatives.
The materials that I am requesting will allow my students to explore the vast world of mathematics through an engaging, hands-on approach. Students will interact with these tools during whole group instruction as well as small group or independent learning time. These tools will also be used to help students overcome misconceptions and confusions when presented with different types of mathematical concepts.
