My students are 13 and 14 years old. Some are the size of grown adults. When entering a classroom ready to learn it is quite the distraction to sit in a desk in which you don't fit.
I am requesting tables and chairs for my project so that these students don't have to worry about fitting in a desk. Students should never have to feel uncomfortable when learning, it is our responsibility to make their learning experience one that is memorable, not stressful.
Because they are 8th graders and going through puberty, the last thing they want to feel is embarrassed because the desk is too tight. They are constantly worrying about what others think. As their teacher I would rather remove this as a distraction....not only is it possible, but necessary. With your help I can make this happen!
