We will get a guinea pig to have as a classroom pet! Our class pet will encourage responsibility in the care of our pet. The students will actively participate in caring for the basic needs as well as be responsible for socializing it. My hope is that a class pet will encourage the "family-like" atmosphere that I try to foster in my classroom. I have found that when we foster the relationships, the rules are followed without rebellion which is especially important in a high school classroom. In addition, we will be able to learn about different aspects of Chemistry and Biology regarding the animal which will aid in bringing abstract concepts to real life!

About my class
