My mathematics classroom serves some incredibly resilient and kind students from 9th-12th grade. Most of my students, however, are either sophomores or juniors and are taking Math II or Math III. Roughly 85% are socioeconomically disadvantaged and 22% are English learners, with plenty more students who learned English as a second language but are now fluent. A number of students also do not have access to wifi or computers at home. About 80% of the students at this school are Hispanic/Latino, 7% are Asian, 6% are Filipino, and the remaining 7% includes a variety of other ethnic groups.
