This coming school year I wanted to focus on flexible seating in my classroom. Flexible seating is where students get a choice of what type of seating arrangement they want. For example, if a student has a hard time sitting still, I would offer them a yoga ball, a stability cushion, or kick bands to better help them focus. If I have a student wanting to work by themselves, they have the option of a lap desk. Lastly, if I have groups meeting in different places in the room, the stools will allow them to move anywhere.
My goal is to provide students with every tool possible to help them become successful students. I know this project will make a positive impact in my classroom. My teaching will be able to better meet the needs of the students who have only had one option of learning environment before.
