The best sound in the world is the sound of a child laughing while reading a book. I firmly believe this. Nothing warms my heart more than one of my first graders being excited about a book. My kids love to show me pictures, read to me, and brag about reaching their reading goals. Books are changing the world one child at a time. For this project, I selected many different genres and types of books to use in my classroom. I will not only use these books for my students to read but I will also use them as a guide to teach science, social studies, math, spelling, and writing. My kids love it when I read to them. So many books are conversation starters for learning. It's amazing what a child can learn from a picture book and a class discussion about it. When I get excited about a book, they get excited about a book. These books will help my students with fluency, vocabulary, reading comprehension, writing, and build a confidence and love for reading.
