I have requested an area rug for my second-grade students. This rug will enable them to have their very own spot to sit on. Having their own area will help them to remember where they are to go and to know to have respect for others around them.
While we are on the carpet, we will be engaged in learning activities from the Smart Board and other learning games with our partners.
Coming to the carpet helps second graders stay focused because they are closer to the learning activities that we are working on. They can interact with each other during partner time and the teacher can walk around and be in close proximity to each child.
