The individual whiteboards will actively involve students in the learning and are a terrific tool for an assessment of their knowledge. I feel like children are always having to use pencil and paper, which tends to be boring for them. Learning would be a lot more fun and engaging if my students had their own whiteboard to use. They can work out math problems with them or just write answers to questions given.
The magnetic shapes are a great way to make math exciting. In first grade we do a whole unit on shapes. We study 2D and 3D shapes. I have seen another teacher use these in her math time and the students love them. It is a perfect way for students to learn about shapes with a hands-on experience.
I currently do not have a soft rug for my students to sit on and read in my library area. I am trying to offer children a comfortable and inviting place to read in my classroom. A lot of children do not have access to books in their home so i would like to make reading as enjoyable as I can. I want my students to learn to love reading!
