Students will explore concepts in Motion and Newton’s Three Laws. They will calculate velocity and acceleration. They will learn about Newton’s Three Laws of Motion. They will explore concepts of inertia, potential energy, kinetic energy, momentum and force. It is important that students accurately measure time in order to use equations to explore these concepts, analyze data and formulate conclusions. Precise measurement in time is difficult to do using analog clocks. Students need the stop watches for precise measurement in time. The batteries will allow us to maintain the use of the stopwatches for several more classes of eighth graders.
