The younger students sit on the floor and hear a story or have a mini lesson before beginning their project for the day. By sitting on the carpet they will be able to have a daily visual of the keyboard and learn its importance.
The older students will be able to see it from their seats. This will help the students remember where the keys are and the correct finger usage. It will also help make the classroom more warm and welcoming, especially to new students. It will also help to cover wires that are currently lying across the floor.
