In order to provide high quality instruction to decrease the academic gap of reading and writing the materials and supplies that I am requesting will help provide students with resources to help close the academic gap. More than 50 percent of Harvey School District 152 students are low income students. Research has shown that “children from low-income families often start school already behind their peers who come from more affluent families, as shown in measures of school readiness.” All the material and resources will benefit in whole group instruction, small group instruction, and tier 2 intervention.
