I am a Special Education Teacher in Dekalb County Schools. My students are third graders and are mostly Hispanic. They are very respectful and enjoy learning. Majority of my students struggle with reading, phonemic awareness, comprehension and word attack skills. Often my students are asked to read a paragraph several times to gather full understandings of the authors purpose and to become fluent with a passage or a book. Some of the students have trouble choosing a book that matches their correct Lexile level. With all this said they are a wonderful group of kids which I enjoy teaching.
