I am asking for a rug and book stand to make a reading corner in my classroom. The book bins will be for organizing the books in the same theme and/or author. I am a second year teacher and last year my classroom did not have a dedicated reading corner. My students love to look at books or have stories read to them.
My students may not have books accessible to them at home because we are a low income/high poverty school.
Books can open up children to a whole new world. Having a collection of books can also foster emerging reading skills. We spend time everyday either reading stories or talking about what happens in a book. And now having a dedicated reading corner will make this more enjoyable!!
