Our young gardeners are learning about how to start plants from seed. They water and nurture them as they grow and then harvest the fruits of their labor. My students will have the unique opportunity of learning how to plan and install the irrigation system. Our students are learning to research which plants are appropriate to plant and when. They are exercising teamwork and becoming more deeply connected to our school community.
Our students take great pride in the work they are doing in our school garden and are part of something bigger than themselves. These are some of the best lessons we can teach students in our public education system.
