Having taught primary students for over 20 years, I know that grammar at a young age is difficult to master. For one, it can be boring! For another, it is often taught in isolation which leads to low retention. It does not have to be this way though.
Through the use of well written mentor texts and sentences, 6, 7 and 8 year old children can not only learn and retain important grammar skills, they will transfer what they learn to become better writers themselves. No longer will grammar be boring! By using engaging picture books, students will have fun studying what a good sentence looks like, what it is made up of (parts of speech) and even how to make it better.
