My class has grown to love reading! I want to continue to foster this love of reading. This means providing them with high interest, engaging chapter books and graphic novels. My classroom library is currently lacking diverse characters and it is important for my students to see themselves in the books they are reading. This helps students feel empowered and connect to what they are reading. These new, diverse books will engage and excite all of the readers in my classroom and allow students to find a book that represents their background. Many of these books are graphic novels with diverse characters, which I hope will interest my reluctant and struggling readers. The comics are visual, which support reading comprehension. These books will continue to support my student's love for reading. Please help me fill my classroom with diverse chapter books and graphic novels to engage all of my students!
