Our school is a Title 1 school in Shamrock, Texas. The students in our school come from a variety of different backgrounds with more than half of our students receiving free or reduced lunch. I have students who are English language learners (ELL), and special education students. For some of my Pre-K students this year will be there first time in a classroom setting, they are eager to explore, learn and make friends. The ages of the children range from three to five, but the student may be developmentally below age and stimulating the children visually is a way to help them actively engage and learn. "Children learn through play. That's why we offer learning centers. Children learn by doing. That's why we sing and move. Children learn through their senses. That's why we provide multi-sensory activities. Children learn through language. That's why they need to talk." -How Do Children Learn? By Dr. Jean Feldman
