My students live in a low income, very transient area. Many enter my classroom with very little academic experience. My job is to make sure I give each student enough and appropriate instruction that they can use at home without the assistance of a sibling, parent or guardian because I do not know if they will return the next day or move on. I try to instill a desire for learning in a safe and nurturing environment that my students can use while in my class or with others. I work hard to lay an academic foundation that will support my students throughout their academic careers.
