In our classroom, we, sometimes, struggle to identify engaging level-appropriate books for my students to read, learn from and enjoy. The books I've selected are specifically written to pique the interest of my students - students who, sometimes, have trouble staying focused or are easily embarrassed by the "quality" of book they can read.
The requested books will do more than simply tell stories of squirrels, science fairs and school buses. They will open up the imaginations of young adults and introduce them to worlds that they've never thought to exist. My students deserve access to these stories - all children do.
