I want to replace the standard, uncomfortable desk chairs in our classroom with various flexible seating opinions - active learning stools, exercise balls, and wobble cushions. The majority of the work my students complete is cooperative in nature where they are gathered around a set of desks actively working on Science experiments or Social Studies projects. That can be extremely uncomfortable, however, after an extended period of time. Having a variety of flexible seating options will allow my students to work comfortably, keeping their minds focused, engaged, and learning! Flexible seating is a vital component of any student centered, 21st-century classroom. Comfort = focus!
