I have been teaching for four years and in that time I have found that the average student goes through at least 5 dry erase markers in a year. That is 125 dry erase markers for a class of 25 a year. This number does not account for lost markers or erasers and broken boards. I have found an alternative in Boogie Boards. Boogie Boards can be used to take notes and work out computations. They also mimic the use of a piece of paper and allow students to make mistakes and easily change them without using another piece of paper. These boards can be used in all subjects and the students can take picture of the board to store for later. Boogie Boards can help eliminate waste in the classroom.
