As a result of the pandemic, my students need help to aid the development of their social skills. An essential part of my Pre-K classroom is learning centers. We have learning center time daily. This wide variety of materials will help to foster their social skills in the learning centers among other skills like fine motor, language, and math to name a few. It is essential to have fun, engaging learning through play in Pre-K. Centers allow my students to learn in the most meaningful way. These diverse materials, like the vets office, farmer’s market, and recycling center, will allow them to have hands-on, exploratory play experiences in many of my curriculum themes.
