The variety of genres that the magazines will provide such as fiction (historical, fantasy, science), nonfiction (biography, autobiography, memoirs), drama, and poetry is key to the different types of learners preferences.
The magazines will be beneficial in helping me to create genre based learning stations for the students in which they have a choice in what assignment they would like to complete. Studies show that students feel ownership and perform better when they have a choice.
