We will be reading the novel Refugee as a class and some of our students, due to financial reasons, do not have the option to go purchase a copy for themselves. This novel is incredibly moving and opens students' eyes to the plight and reality of people in circumstances less fortunate than our own. It helps them to understand that people in other parts of the world have, in the past, and still face unfathomable hardship and some even have to leave their home for their own safety.
The students begin to see the world beyond their own front door!
