Research shows that students are able to focus and do their best work when they are comfortable. By providing options for seating, students are given the choice of where they are most comfortable to work. Providing flexible seating has also been shown to reduce the amount of behavior issues that can happen in the classroom. I would like to provide my students with a variety of choices, such as cushions, chairs, or stools. If students are able to focus and be more engaged in what they are learning, they will be more successful. I know my students would benefit from flexible seating and I excited to see their enthusiasm, as well as engagement, increase with our new seating options.
