I am a third year teacher at Canyon Springs High School. I teach Ceramics, Drawing and an AP class. My class is made up a variety of grade levels and students. My objective is to expose students to a variety of art through different mediums, projects and styles. I believe by doing this students will find a passion for expressing themselves visually, gain problem solving skills and learn to reflect on their decisions. Unfortunately, my students have to battle more than most. They battle hunger, homelessness, neglect and lack of a stable family structure. For these students school and teachers provide that structure. Sometimes we as teachers are the only ones in the corner of that child and usually that is just not enough. Teachers need support and students need dreams.
