Our class motto is "We take care of each other". In a world that is so focused on self, we are learning to see things from other people's point of view, and consider how our actions will effect them. So not only do I measure the success of my kids using data from tests and daily work, but I work to see my kids grow in kindness and selfless acts.
I've spent my entire career in Title One schools, and I wouldn't have it any other way. These students are eager to learn and enjoy school. The majority of our parents are hard working, loving parents; making sacrifices for their families. I'm lucky to be able to come along side these parents to help their children be successful (and enjoy) school.
