I teach very enthusiastic and energetic first graders. Flexible seating options will allow my students to choose how they learn and allow them to move freely around the classroom. Sitting still for long periods of time is not the best for the students and sitting in rows or desk all day is constraining.
Being able to have flexible seating to help get their wiggles out will help them focus better. It is an exciting reward when students are able to get comfortable while doing their work. Even as an adult I struggle to sit through presentations for long periods of time. It is my hope that we can provide students with a kind of seating that allows them to exert their energy in a positive way that promotes a fun style of learning.
