As a teacher in a special education classroom, I have a unique set of learners. My students are very reluctant readers. In fact,a few of them are non-readers. The books in my current library are very old, shattered and unable to capture the attention of my students. I am trying to build a love of reading and these books will help do just that.
My project will make a difference because not only will my 13 students enjoy these books, but so will the other students that will come after them.
By receiving this leveled library, I can engage my non-readers, reluctant readers and fluent readers all at the same time. It will also provide an opportunity for growth as there are several different levels that the students can aspire to reach.
