Seventy-five percent of my students are designated English Language Learners. A larger percentage of my students' parents were themselves English Language Learners, some of whom currently do not speak the language. Providing my students with ample exposure to English with correct pronunciation and grammar is essential, however, listening to me is only half the battle. Students need opportunity to use the language themselves.
My students will use the rug and balance balls as alternate seating options where they can comfortably speak to their partner using the recording machines, which will allow each student to play back their own voice to accurately access their use of the language. The recording machines store hours of data, which can be transferred to a computer creating a log of student progress throughout the school year. Please help support my students on their journey to becoming confident and fluent English speakers.
