In a Reading Workshop classroom, students have the ability to choose their own book titles in order to facilitate engagement with the reading process and comprehension. In order to accomplish this in a seamless way, a classroom library filled with high-interest books titles is essential. In order to make sure my classroom library was filled with the appropriate books, I researched book titles from experts like Penny Kittle and Kelly Gallagher. As a result, these books were carefully curated so students have engaging books to read. Some requested books include The Complete Unwind Dystology Unwind, What Do You Do With A Problem, Eleanor & Park, Dear Martin, Prisoner B-3087, I Am Not Your Perfect Mexican Daughter, The 57 Bus, The Color Purple, and The Crossover. With these new titles, students can connect with books that keep them engaged and reflect their lives in some way.
