While I try to make my middle school classroom an inviting and fun place to learn, I teach reluctant readers. The program is rigorous and my students give it their all. However, the seating is very stiff and uncomfortable.
Last school year, my students explained that they would like to either sit on the floor or have more comfortable seating when they are in their independent reading rotation. I chose the inflatable seats and floor cushions to help them focus and let the books take them wherever they are led.
I am excited to offer flexible seating to my students because as a voracious reader myself, I am more receptive to books when I am comfortable. Any assistance that is granted will be greatly appreciated.
